BREAKING NEWS: Klinsmann quits Germany

Several German news sources are reporting that Jurgen Klinsmann has refused a contract extension with the German National Team.

Before we have out of control speculation on this website, keep in mind Bruce Arena is still under contract with the USSF until December and thus would have to be fired by his close friend Sunil Gulati in order to make way for Klinsmann. Secondly, Klinsmann has denied any interest in the USA job although that was during Germany's World Cup run and several credible news organziations have reported that the US has made already made him an offer of upwards of $3 million a year.

Italy's Lippis has resigned after accomplishing his goal. The whole cycle of coaches in international soccer ebbs and flows except for Arena who insists on being coach for life.

Although I think Arena has done an acceptable job as USA coach, it would be better for American soccer's future to bring in someone else -- whether that person is Klinsmann or someone else. We can wait until December for the transistion, as Arena doesn't deserved to be dumped.

Is USA going to fire Arena? They must first if they can make an offer to Klinsmann.

It is being reported on this side of the pond that the USA needs more time to decide what they are doing with Arena.

Klinsmann is a real bastard if he thinks he can play us for 6 months. We don't need him anyhow. We have one of the most respected world coaches now.

WE NEED HIM WHATEVER THE PRICE AND WHENEVER HE IS AVAILABLE : NOW OR NEXT YEAR
